Things are moving along, but just a bit slower than originally anticipated. We are hoping for a release date no later than June. Time will tell!
It will be kitten season soon in the USA, so I know soon enough I will have fosters again and my rescue groups will be very thankful for any funds our books bring in.We are still trying to find proofreaders. This work involves simply reading a story and making sure there are no glaring errors in formatting, grammar, spelling or punctuation. If you’d like to help us out, please head over to our volunteer page and fill out the short form!
As always, thanks for your support! -
Wow! It’s been a while! Things for the Pen and Paw team have been very, very busy these days.
First, I just want it to be known that we appreciate those of you who are still supporting us, and all our amazing authors and volunteers! I am sincerely sorry I haven’t been as good as I once was about keeping everyone updated. Hopefully in the coming months we can remedy that!
Editing finished with some amazing effort from our volunteers. Our authors have been polishing their work and we believe we will be ready to format sometime in March.
We will be in need of proofreaders to double check that there’s no serious issues that snuck past us. If you or someone you know is interested in such a task, please check out our volunteer page!
Hopefully we will have another update soon! Thanks for sticking with us! -
Our editors are hard at work. We are making steady progress. Our next steps will be to finish edits, have authors review their work once more, and then formatting will begin. Proofreaders will overlook our finished product to keep an eye out for anything that may have slipped by us. Keep an eye open for our cover reveal in the coming months! As always, we rely heavily on volunteers. If you think you may like to join our cause, please fill out our volunteer form!

Pen and Paw International:
Beta reads are FINISHED! Next up our amazing authors will consider suggestions and thoughts from all our readers and make optional changes to their short stories and poems. Resubmission deadline is October 31st. Editing beings in November. We are still searching for more editors, so please fill out our volunteer form if you are interested!
Foster news:
All of Maple’s kittens have been delivered to HOPE’s shelter, and several of the kittens have already been adopted. Mama Maple is doing well at home, recouping from taking care of 7 kittens. Foster Willie has been integrated into our household after his last adopter fell through. (Please no hate to them! They wanted badly to help Willie but it wasn’t the right time for them and I am glad the adopter had the wisdom to know this!) After nearly a year of living in a room, we thought it best we see what happens if we try to allow Willie to live with us. He is doing amazingly well so far. My cats, on the other hand, are apprehensive about the newcomer. 😉 -
Dive into Christiana’s newest release, Trickster’s Bane: A Welsh Myth retelling…
Even trickster gods can sometimes be too clever…Gwydion is the poet’s god, sorcerer, shapeshifter, and trickster. Throughout his long life he’s taken whatever and whoever he wants, leaving a trail of victims along the way.
Two women dare stand against him.
One, the lovely raven-haired Goewin, wins the heart of an immortal king. But when Gwydion dishonours her and threatens her happily ever after, she and her lover seek a creative and brutal revenge.
The second is Gwydion’s sister Arianrhod, goddess of the moon and stars. When Gwydion steals her son from her, she’ll do whatever it takes to get him back—including using Gwydion’s own tactics against him.
Comprising two short stories, Trickster’s Bane is a loose retelling of a Welsh myth.

We have sent out our acceptance letters and will begin the alpha/beta reading. We’ve also added a calendar to our page so you can see our (very hopeful) timeline. We are going to try our best to have contracts sent out by the end of the week. Thanks everyone for your patience!
We are still looking for more beta readers, editors, and proofreaders! Please consider signing up as a volunteer. Take on as much as you like, that can mean just reading ONE short story or poem. Help us make the best anthology possible so we can help support rescues! -
Hey there! If you have sent us a story or poem for Pen and Paw and haven’t heard from us, we apologize! We have a new date set to contact all our authors by July 9th. We have been having a great time reading, but life sometimes gets in the way. We hope to finish them all by then, so we thank you for your patience.
